In the middle of the valley stands a ring of stones set out in the shape of a ship around a mound - the barrow the steading will not walk past at night. Go and stand in it.

“In the middle of the valley, north of the crossroads, there is a ring of standing stones in the shape of a ship, and a mound in it. The old Huntsman is buried there - the one who hunted the first giants with his wolves.”
“On the long nights he rides out of it. Go and stand in the stones by day and tell me the runes on the hunt stone are still whole. I need to know before the next long night.”
